Elgin State Bank is a community bank and it is very important for us to give back to our community. Our employees volunteer for various local organizations and events throughout the year and the bank helps sponsor several of the events. Several staff members serve on auxiliary committees and Board of Directors of these agencies.
Elgin State Bank has been a sponsor for The Boys & Girls Club of Elgin Duck Race, The Ecker Center Festival of Trees, Elgin Junior Service Board Follies, Sherman Hospital Auxiliary Ball, Children’s Theatre, Elgin Symphony, Fox Valley Hospice Garden Party, Provena Saint Joseph Hospital Auxiliary Ball and various other events as well as the annual sponsor for The Elgin Open City Golf Tournament.
Each year our employees get involved in The United Way Annual Campaign with a personal pledge and the bank sponsors a Car Wash for the United Way Day of Caring. The funds raised by the employees from the car wash are disbursed to a different charitable organization each year.
Since 2000, Elgin State Bank has sponsored its annual “Care To Share” Holiday Program. The bank staff chooses a different not-for-profit agency annually to be the beneficiary of their program. For two months in the fall the bank donates $5 for each new checking, savings or money market account opened towards holiday gifts, baskets, and a holiday party for the organization. Past recipients have been The Elgin Day Care, Fox Valley Hospice, The Community Crisis Center, Youth Leadership Academy, Bethesda Day Care Center, The Boys & Girls Club and The Larkin Center.
